The Private Research Agent is a liberal profession defined by Article L621-1 of the Internal Security Code, the fees are therefore free.
The price varies depending on the nature of the mission , its technical complexity , its duration but also the means implemented (number of agents assigned, number of kilometers, etc.)
The prices of the Grenat Investigations Agency are within the average of the prices charged in the provinces.
A free, detailed and no-obligation quote is established following an interview with the principal.
Upon acceptance of the quote, a 50% deposit is requested to cover the initial investigation costs, the other half being due at the end of the mission when the investigation report is submitted.
Admissibility of the investigation report
In terms of case law, the “Torino” judgment of the Court of Cassation rendered on November 7, 1962 , established that the private detective's investigation report can be taken into consideration as a procedural document, and therefore admitted by the magistrates.
In order for it to be admissible before the courts, the investigation report must be detailed, circumstantial, precise , and must respect the legal principles of legality , proportionality and fairness of evidence . Furthermore, it must not be marked by any animosity against either party.
However, it may be declared inadmissible if the information contained has been obtained illicitly or unfairly.
Reimbursement of investigation costs
As part of a procedure, it is possible to request reimbursement of investigation costs from the opposing party on the principle of fairness.
Indeed, article 700 of the Code of Civil Procedure, article L761-1 of the Code of Administrative Justice and articles 475-1 and 375 of the Code of Criminal Procedure , are provided for depending on the type of procedure initiated.
The amount awarded remains at the discretion of the judge .
